Whitby is situated on Highway 401, Canada's major east-west connector.  A second major connector, Highway 407, is currently being extended through Whitby.

With excellent access to major highways, railways for freight and passenger service, intermodal facilities, airports and shipping ports, Whitby offers convenient connections to U.S. border crossings.

GO Transit (rail and bus) offers daily service for commuters to and from Downtown Toronto.
